As if 2020 isn’t weird enough. A wild theory suggesting that the 90’s kid’s TV legendary Art Attack presenter Neil Buchanan is the reclusive street artist known as Banksy gained some serious traction this week.
It started on Twitter:
They explained that the theory was given credibility by the fact that Buchanan, like Banksy, is a musician – a former member of heavy metal band Marseille – and “art has followed in cities of shows he’s done allegedly”.
It quickly gathered lots of social media chatter:
Sorry to burst your bubble, but the mysterious identity of Banksy still remains as the artist was forced to post a statement today to address the rumours.
